Free plan or 14-day trial
linqr has a free plan with no trial for dynamic codes; Uniqode has a free generator for static codes and a trial for dynamic ones. Uniqode's pricing FAQ says its generator “is free only for those using a static QR Code”, and that it has a 14-day free trial. Its generator page says no credit cards are needed.
A static Uniqode code can be downloaded without an account, but only as a PNG, according to Uniqode's blog on downloading codes. A static code stores your link directly: it never depends on a subscription, but you can't change the link or count scans. Our guide to static vs dynamic QR codes covers the trade-off.
linqr works the other way round: every code is dynamic, and the Free plan gives you 3 active codes with no trial, no card, unlimited scans and unlimited link changes.
What happens to your codes when you stop paying
On Uniqode, dynamic codes need an active account. Uniqode's pricing FAQ is clear on both cases. After the trial: “Once your free trial expires, any dynamic QR Codes you created will become inactive”, and if you don't upgrade, they “will no longer redirect users”. After cancelling: “If you decide to cancel your subscription, your QR Codes will become inactive.” It also says the account linked to the codes “has to stay active” for them to work.
That matters for anything printed. A code on packaging or a building sign can stay in use for years, so check how a plan renews before you print, whichever service you choose.
linqr codes have no expiration date and the Free plan has no trial. The terms of service, linked in the footer, set out what happens to linqr codes when Pro ends. Prices: annual plans only
Uniqode's plans are yearly only and priced for businesses; linqr Pro can be paid monthly or yearly. Uniqode's pricing page says “We currently only offer annual subscription plans” and that all plans are billed in USD. These are the plan cards on September 25, 2026:

Design, print files and statistics
Both tools cover logos, frames and vector files; the difference is which plan you need. Uniqode's generator has Logo, Design and Frame tabs, and account users can download PNG, JPG, SVG, EPS and PDF.
linqr's Free plan includes your own logo or a quick icon, colors, module and corner shapes, and frames with label text, with PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG files up to 2048 px. Pro adds PDF and EPS with a print size in centimeters, and 4096 px downloads. A real decoder checks the preview and shows Scans correctly before you download.
Stats on Uniqode come with paid plans, with history from 60 days on Essential to all-time history on Business+. linqr Free shows total and unique scans, a 30-day chart, top 3 countries and devices, leaving out bots and link previews. Is Uniqode or linqr better for a small business?
