QR code with your logo in the middle

Use this free QR code generator with logo support in three steps: paste your link, add your logo in the Logo tab, and watch the live preview, which tells you right away whether phones can still read the code. You can change the link any time, so when your website address changes, you point the stickers, business cards and yard signs with your logo at the new one without reprinting.

Your code will appear here

  1. Paste your link

Paste the address into The link to turn into a QR code, or use the Paste button. The design tabs unlock as soon as the preview appears.

  2. Open the Logo tab

On this page the creator opens it for you once the preview is ready.

  3. Add your logo file

Drag the file onto the box or click choose from your device. PNG, JPG, WEBP or SVG, up to 5 MB. Your logo shows up in the middle of the code right away.

  4. Adjust it and check the result

Set Logo size and Space around the logo. Under the preview you should still see Scans correctly.

  5. Click Download QR code

Save the code to a free account (Google, or email and password). The first PNG downloads on its own, and then you can pick SVG or another format.

Until you save the code, your logo never leaves your browser.

Logo size, spacing and background

Once the file is in, four settings appear. The defaults are a safe starting point.

SettingWhat it doesWhere to start
Logo sizeLogo width as a share of the code width, 12 to 30%.22% by default. A small mark can go to 25%.
Space around the logoAn empty band between logo and dots, 0 to 2 modules.0.5 by default. Add more if the logo blends in.
Remove dots behind the logoClears the dots behind the logo.On. Switched off, dots show through transparent parts.
Logo backgroundNone, Square, Rounded or Circle, in any color.Circle for a multicolor logo.

A module is one dot of the code. The slider measures the code without its margin: on a code 1.25 in (3.2 cm) wide, a logo at 22% is about a quarter inch (7 mm) across.

Quick icons

No logo file handy? Quick icons has eight ready-made marks: Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, Email, Phone, Link and Restaurant. One click puts the icon in the middle of the code.

An icon is only a picture. The code still opens the link you pasted, so the Wi-Fi icon won't connect anyone to your network and the phone icon won't dial a number. Icons work best when they match the destination, like a QR code for Instagram that opens your profile.

Why a logo doesn't break the code

Every QR code carries error correction: some of the dots are backup data a phone uses to rebuild a covered or smudged area. A QR code with a logo uses that reserve on purpose: the logo covers the center, and the rest is enough to read the link.

In the More tab, Error correction is set to Auto by default. Without a logo it picks medium, which recovers about 15% damage. Add a logo and it switches to the highest level (H), which recovers about 30%. If you pick a lower level by hand, make the logo smaller too.

Live scan check

A real QR reader runs under the preview. After every change it reads the code the way a phone would and shows Scans correctly or This code may be hard to scan, with a one-click fix:

  • “The logo covers too much of the code”: Make logo smaller shrinks it by a few percentage points.
  • “Our reader couldn't read the code from the preview”: for example Raise error correction or Add more margin.
  • Not enough contrast: Fix contrast darkens the code or lightens the background.

A screen is not paper. Before you order 500 stickers, print one at the final size and scan it with two phones. If something is off, see why a QR code is not working.

Best practices

  • A simple mark beats a full wordmark. A single letter reads fine at a quarter inch; a tagline doesn't.
  • About 20% of the code width. A rule of thumb: the logo stays clear and the code keeps a reserve.
  • Dark code, light background. The logo can be colorful, but keep the dots clearly darker than the background. More in custom QR code design.
  • Give a busy logo a background. A Logo background circle keeps it from mixing with the dots.

Files for print

Free downloads are PNG, JPG, WEBP or SVG, up to 2048 px. SVG is a vector that stays sharp at any size, with the logo inside as an image up to 1024 px wide. Pro adds PDF and EPS for print shops and 4096 px files. Formats are compared on the SVG QR code generator page.

After you change the link, you don't download anything again. Every file opens the same short link, so printed stickers go to the new address right away.

Questions

Will a logo stop my QR code from scanning?

Not if enough of the code stays visible. With a logo, linqr switches error correction to the highest level, which recovers about 30% of the code, and the reader under the preview checks the result live. Before a big print run, still print one test copy, because paper and ink can lower the contrast.

How big can the logo be?

The Logo size slider goes from 12 to 30% of the code width. A good rule of thumb is about 20%: the logo is easy to see and the code keeps a reserve for dirt and wear. If the logo covers too much, the scan check says “The logo covers too much of the code” and offers Make logo smaller.

Which logo file formats can I use?

PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG, up to 5 MB. SVG or a transparent PNG works best, because there's no box around the logo. JPG has no transparency, so its background shows in the code. In that case, set Logo background to the same color as the file's background and the box blends in.

Is the logo included in the Free plan?

Yes. linqr is a free QR code generator with logo support: the Free plan has the full design toolkit (logo, quick icons, colors, shapes and frames), with 3 active codes, unlimited link changes and PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG files up to 2048 px. Pro, at $4.99 a month, adds unlimited codes, PDF and EPS print files and 4096 px downloads. The logo works the same on both.

Can I change the logo on a code I already printed?

Not on printed copies, since ink doesn't change. You can edit a saved code's look in its Design tab, but the new logo only goes into future downloads, and old stickers keep working. What you can change without reprinting is the link: in My codes, click Change link and the printed code opens the new address right away.

Can I use an SVG logo?

Yes, you upload an SVG just like a PNG. Before the code is saved, your browser turns the logo into a PNG up to 1024 px wide, which is how we store logos. The code itself stays a vector in SVG, PDF and EPS files, and that resolution is plenty for business cards, flyers and posters.

How do I put a white circle behind my logo?

After you upload the logo, set Logo background to Circle and pick white, or any color, in the same row. The circle separates a busy or multicolor logo from the dots around it. Square and Rounded work the same way, and Space around the logo adds an empty band if the logo still blends in.

Which quick icons can I put in the middle of a QR code?

Quick icons in the Logo tab has eight: Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Wi-Fi, Email, Phone, Link and Restaurant. One click places the icon in the center. It's only a picture: the code still opens the link you pasted, so the Wi-Fi icon won't join a network and the phone icon won't dial a number.

Is my logo uploaded anywhere before I save the code?

No. While you design, the logo stays in your browser. It's sent to linqr only when you save the code to your account, so it can go into your downloads and future edits. If you close the tab before saving, your logo is never stored by us.

Which error correction level should I use with a logo?

Leave Error correction on Auto in the More tab. With a logo, Auto switches to level H, the highest, which recovers about 30% of the code, enough to cover a logo at the recommended size. If you pick a lower level by hand, shrink the logo too and wait for Scans correctly under the preview.

Can each of my QR codes have a different logo?

Yes. The logo is part of each code's own design, so one code can carry your company logo, another an Instagram icon and a third a restaurant icon. Change a saved code's look in its Design tab; the new logo goes into future downloads, while copies you already printed keep working.
