QR code for Facebook

Make a QR code for your Facebook page by pasting the page's link here: the creator adds the Facebook icon for you, and you download the code as a PNG or SVG. You can change the link any time, so this month's event poster can point to next month's event, and a new page address doesn't mean reprinting.

Your code will appear here

Facebook's help center suggests doing it in a browser: search for the page, profile, group or event, click its name and copy the address from the address bar. On a phone, open m.facebook.com in your browser, find it the same way, then tap and hold the address bar and tap Copy.

What the code opensLinkGood to know
Business pagefacebook.com/yourpageThe page's username is part of the address, so changing it changes the link.
ProfileThe address from your browserChanging your username changes your profile address and your Messenger link.
GroupThe group's address from your browserDon't use an invite link to a private hidden group: it expires after 48 hours or 20 clicks.
EventThe event's address from your browserFacebook only lets you share upcoming public events.
Messenger chatm.me/yourpageOpens a chat with your page in Messenger.

Before you print, open the link in a private browser window without logging in. That's what a stranger will see: if the page, group or event is hidden there, the code won't help much.

Make a QR code for your Facebook page in 4 steps

  1. Paste your link

Paste it into The link to turn into a QR code at the top of this page, or tap Paste.

  2. Keep the icon or use your logo

This page puts the Facebook icon in the middle for you. Prefer your business logo? Open Logo and click Replace file; you can bring the Facebook icon back under Quick icons.

  3. Pick a style and a label

Under Style, the ready-made style Midnight gives a navy code with blue corner centers that suits Facebook's colors. Under Frame, choose Label below and type Frame text such as “FIND US ON FACEBOOK” or “JOIN THE GROUP.”

  4. Click Download QR code

Once you see “Scans correctly,” save the code to your free account. The first file, a 1024 px PNG, downloads automatically, and you can grab an SVG for your printer in the same window.

Event over? Point the code to the next one

A poster for a concert, a tournament or a bake sale usually stays up longer than the event itself, and a regular code keeps pointing to a date that's gone. A linqr code can move on: open My codes, click Change link, paste the next event's address into New destination link and save. The posters already on the walls open the new event right away.

Say a Little League team prints one season poster, “Home games at Riverside Park,” with a code. Before each game, the coach points it to that game's Facebook event; between games, it opens the team page. Our guide on changing a QR code link after printing walks through it.

Need sign-ups with names, head counts or T-shirt sizes? Point the same code at a form while sign-ups are open, then back to the event. Our page on the QR code for a Google Form shows how to set the form up.

Give the code a name, like “Season poster 2026.” Only you see it, in My codes, and it makes the right code easy to find before the next event.

Posters, flyers and the counter

A Facebook code works best where people want the details later:

  • Event posters: a code in the bottom corner with a label like “DETAILS ON FACEBOOK” so people know what opens. For a trailer or last year's highlights, use a QR code for a YouTube video.
  • Flyers: put the code next to the key fact, like the grand opening date. Our page on QR codes for flyers and posters covers size, paper and counting scans.
  • Counter and register: a stand with a code to your page, where customers check hours and specials.
  • Community boards: at a school, church or library, a code to your group beats a long address nobody will type.
  • Storefront window: a Messenger code labeled “MESSAGE US” for customers who find the door locked.

Rule of thumb: make the code about one tenth of the scanning distance, and never smaller than 2 cm (0.8 in). A poster read from 6 feet away needs a code about 7 in (18 cm) wide.

Facebook and Instagram

Got a Facebook page and an Instagram account? Make two separate codes rather than one for both. Each gets its own stats, so after a month you'll see which profile your customers prefer. Both fit on the Free plan, which includes 3 active codes.

You can make the Instagram one, with the Instagram icon, on our QR code for Instagram page. Print both codes side by side at the same size, each with a label, so nobody has to guess which opens what.

Facebook's help center notes that changing your username changes your Facebook and Messenger profile addresses, and your Instagram one too if you sync profiles. After a change like that, update the link in both codes.

Questions

How do I make a QR code for my Facebook page?

Open your page in a browser and copy the address from the address bar. Paste it into the field at the top of this page; the creator adds the Facebook icon in the middle. Change the colors or add a frame with text like “FIND US ON FACEBOOK,” then click Download QR code, save the code to your free account and download a PNG or SVG.

Can the code open a group or an event?

Yes. Open the group or event in a browser and copy the address from the address bar. Skip invite links to private hidden groups: Facebook's help center says they expire after 48 hours or 20 clicks. Facebook also only lets you share upcoming public events. When the event is over, point the code to the next one under My codes.

Can a QR code open a Messenger chat?

Yes. Messenger has short links like m.me/yourpage. According to Meta's documentation, such a link opens a new conversation with your business, or the existing one if the person has messaged you before. Paste it into the creator like any other link. linqr doesn't send or answer messages; the code only opens the chat.

I changed my page's address. What happens to the code?

Your page's username is part of its address, so changing the username changes the link. A code with the address baked in would keep pointing to the old one. With linqr, open My codes, click Change link and paste the new address. Printed codes open your page at its new address right away, with no new file and no reprint.

Is a Facebook QR code free?

Yes. The Free plan gives you 3 active dynamic codes with unlimited scans and link changes, the full design with logos, frames and colors, and PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG files up to 2048 px. It isn't a trial and needs no credit card, just a free account. Pro, at $4.99 a month, adds unlimited codes, PDF and EPS files and full stats.

Will scanning the code open my page in the Facebook app?

In most cases, yes. The linqr code opens your facebook.com link, and phones with the Facebook app installed usually open it there. Without the app, the page loads in the browser. Facebook may show a login prompt to visitors who aren't signed in, which is Facebook's choice, not the code's.

Can a QR code link to a single Facebook post?

Yes. Open the post, use Share and copy its link, or copy the address from the post's timestamp on a computer. Paste it into the linqr creator. This works well for a pinned announcement or an offer post, and you can point the same code back to your page afterwards.

What frame text should I use on a Facebook QR code?

Tell people what they'll find: “FOLLOW US ON FACEBOOK”, “JOIN OUR GROUP” or “EVENT DETAILS”. In linqr, set it under Frame, in Frame text, and keep it to a few words so the letters stay readable at small sizes. Change the text for each print run if the destination changes.

Can I put the Facebook logo in the middle of the code?

Yes. The linqr creator has a Facebook quick icon under Logo, or you can upload your own file. With a logo, error correction on Auto moves to the highest level so the code still scans, and the live check shows Scans correctly before you download. Keep the logo small.

How many Facebook QR codes can I make for free?

Three active codes on the linqr Free plan, with no trial, no expiry date and no card. That's enough for your page, a group and an event, for example. Each has unlimited scans and link changes. For more codes you need Pro, which removes the limit on active codes.

How big should a Facebook QR code be on an event poster?

About one tenth of the distance people will scan from. A poster read from 3 feet (1 m) needs a code about 4 in (10 cm) wide; one on a wall read from 10 feet needs 12 in. Download an SVG so the print shop can scale it without blur.
