Wedding QR code for photos, RSVP and your website
A QR code for wedding photos gives your guests one scan to your shared album, and you can make it here for free: paste the album link, pick your colors and add a frame. Because you can change the link any time, the same printed code can collect RSVPs months before the wedding and open the photographer's gallery after it.

One code, three moments
Invitations go to the printer months before the wedding, and the professional photos arrive weeks after it. A linqr code holds a short link you can repoint any time, so one print run covers the whole story:

A link change takes effect right away, and the code on paper stays the same. There's nothing to download or reprint.
The album behind your QR code for wedding photos
linqr doesn't store photos. The code opens an album you set up yourself, and guests don't install anything from us:
- A Google Photos shared album. Google's help center says anyone with the album link can view it and add photos. Turn off Collaborate in the album's options to stop new uploads. Our QR code for Google Drive guide covers the sharing settings.
- A Dropbox file request. Dropbox says anyone can upload to a file request, with or without a Dropbox account. Photos land in your folder, and guests can't browse it.
- Your photographer's upload page or the link from a wedding photo app you already use.
Google Photos can show its own album QR code (Share, then Show QR Code), but it always opens that one album. A linqr code can switch to the photographer's gallery later and match your stationery.
On the invitation
On an invitation or save-the-date, the code replaces the insert card that tends to get lost. It usually points to:
- Your wedding website. The schedule, travel details, hotel block and registry.
- An RSVP form. Name, party size, meal choice and song requests. If you build it in Google Forms, our page on the QR code for a Google Form walks through the setup.
Add a line next to the code that says what it opens, like “RSVP by May 15.” After the deadline, point the same code to the schedule, and on the day to the album.
On tables and the welcome sign
On the day, your QR code for wedding photos sits on table cards, by the photo booth or on the welcome sign, where it's part of the decor. The creator lets you match it to your stationery:
- Colors: your palette, a Linear or Radial fill and the Different corner colour option.
- Shapes: dots shaped as Hearts, or rounded and classy ones. The Candy ready-made style has hearts built in.
- Frame: the Label below style with up to 24 characters, like “SHARE YOUR PHOTOS.”
Watch the contrast: blush pink on cream card stock looks lovely, but phones may not read it. The creator checks scanning as you design and shows Not enough contrast with a Fix button. More options are on our custom QR code generator page.
After the wedding, switch the link
When your photographer delivers the gallery, open My codes, pick the code and click Change link. Paste the gallery address into New destination link and save. The code opens it right away, while the invitations stay in drawers and on fridges, unchanged.
Earlier links are listed under Previous links in the Change link window, so you can go back to the guest album with Use again. linqr codes have no expiration date, so on your first anniversary you can point the invitation code at the finished photo book.
Size and a test scan before printing
Download a file for the printer
Click Download QR code and save the code to your account. Under Format, vector SVG is on Free; PDF and EPS need Pro and let you set the Print size in centimeters.
Size it for the distance
Rule of thumb: make the code's side about a tenth of the scanning distance. Invitations and place cards: at least 0.8 in (2 cm), ideally 1 to 1.2 in. A welcome sign read from 3 to 6 feet: about 4 to 8 in (10 to 20 cm).
Leave a blank margin
Keep an empty border around the code, 4 modules by default under Margin (quiet zone). Don't tuck it into a floral border or put foil on it.
Print one proof
Print one invitation on the final card stock and scan it with two phones, including in dim light.
Test the album on someone else's phone
Ask a friend to scan it and add one photo. If the album asks for access, fix sharing before the invitations go out.
Questions
How do guests upload photos with a QR code?
The code opens a shared album, and the album handles the uploads. Paste a Google Photos shared album link, a Dropbox file request or a photo app page into the creator on this page. Guests scan the code with their phone's camera (on an iPhone, the built-in Camera app) and add photos. Test it on a few phones first.
Does linqr store our photos?
No. linqr stores only the link your code points to and counts scans, without keeping the IP addresses of people who scan. Your photos stay where you created the album, such as Google Photos or Dropbox, and that service's settings decide who can see them, who can add to them and how much storage they use.
Can we change the link after the invitations are printed?
Yes, as often as you like. In My codes, open the code, click Change link and paste the new address. It works right away, and every printed invitation, table card and sign keeps working, because only the destination of the short link changes. There's nothing to download or reprint.
What size should the code be on an invitation?
As a rule of thumb, at least 0.8 in (2 cm) per side, or 1 to 1.2 in (2.5 to 3 cm) if the design allows. A linqr code holds a short link, so it has few modules and stays readable when small. Keep a blank margin and no foil on the code, and print a proof first.
Is a wedding QR code free?
Yes. The Free plan includes 3 active dynamic codes with logos, colors and frames, unlimited scans and link changes, and PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG files up to 2048 px. Most couples need one or two codes. There's no trial and no credit card. Pro, at $4.99 a month, adds more codes and PDF and EPS files.
Will the code still work years later?
linqr codes have no expiration date and no scan limit, and the Free plan has no trial. A code stops if you pause or delete it, delete your account, or it's blocked for breaking the terms; the terms of service, linked in the footer, set out what happens to codes when Pro ends. What more often breaks is the album itself, so if you move the photos, update the link and the printed code follows.
Which photo sharing services can a wedding QR code link to?
Any service that gives you a web link: a shared Google Photos album, an iCloud shared album link, a Dropbox or OneDrive upload folder, or a dedicated wedding photo app. linqr only opens the link; the photos stay with that service. Before printing, test the link on a phone that isn't signed in to your account.
Can the same wedding QR code open our website first and the photo album later?
Yes. Print one code on the invitation and point it at your wedding website with the RSVP and schedule. On the wedding day, open My codes, choose Change link and paste the album link. Later you can switch it again to the highlight video. The printed code never changes.
How many QR codes do we need for a wedding?
Usually one is enough, because you can change where it points at each stage. Some couples use two or three: one on the invitations, one on the tables for photo uploads and one on the thank-you cards. The linqr Free plan includes 3 active codes, so that setup costs nothing.
Can a wedding QR code match our invitation colors?
Yes, as long as there is strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans best, for example deep green or navy on ivory. In linqr you pick the colors, dot shapes and a frame, and the creator checks the code with a real decoder while you design. Avoid pale gold or blush tones for the dots.
Can we see how many wedding guests scanned our code?
Yes. Every linqr code shows total and unique scans, a 30-day chart, top countries and devices, on the Free plan too. It counts scans, not people, and it can't tell who uploaded photos. Comparing unique scans with your guest count shows roughly how many guests found the album.
