Ads when someone scans
On ME-QR's Free plan, the pricing page lists “All QR codes with ads”, and its plan guide explains that people who scan see advertisements before they reach your content. For a restaurant table, a product label or a business card, that means your customer's first screen is someone else's ad.
linqr shows no ads, on any plan. A scan goes through the short link onsonara.com/q/… straight to your destination. Apart from a short note when you Pause a code on purpose, linqr shows nothing between the scan and your link. Our rules are in QR codes with no expiration date.
What the free plans include
ME-QR's free plan is generous on numbers. linqr's is small but clean.
- ME-QR Free: up to 10,000 codes, unlimited scans, dynamic by default (per its FAQ, you can change both the content and the type of code in your account), logo and frames, stats kept for one year, and ads on every scan.
- linqr Free: 3 active dynamic codes, unlimited scans and link changes, logo, colors, shapes and frames with a label, PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG up to 2048 px, stats for 30 days (total and unique scans, top 3 countries, devices), no ads, no trial and no card.
If you need dozens of codes for internal use and don't mind the ad, ME-QR Free goes much further. If your codes face customers, linqr Free avoids the ad entirely.
Paid plans and removing ads
As shown on ME-QR's pricing page on September 25, 2026 (the page adjusts currency by location, and yearly billing is quoted as a monthly figure):

Lite raises the limit to 100,000 codes but removes the ad from only one code, so removing ads from all your codes means Premium: about USD 104 a year on yearly billing. What happens to codes when you stop paying
ME-QR's FAQ says all your codes will work after you unsubscribe, but ads will be shown again. linqr has no ads on any plan, Free included, its codes have no expiration date, and the Free plan has no trial. The terms of service, linked in the footer, set out what happens to linqr codes when Pro ends.
Design, files and stats
ME-QR's how-to guide offers a logo and a frame with or without a call to action, and downloads in PNG or SVG. linqr has logo upload or quick icons, frames with your own label, PNG, JPG, WEBP and SVG on every plan, and PDF and EPS with a Print size in centimeters on Pro. A real decoder checks the preview and shows Scans correctly before you download.
On stats, ME-QR is stronger on history: one year on Free and three years on Lite and Premium, per its FAQ. linqr keeps 30 days on Free and 365 days on Pro, where it adds cities, systems, browsers, languages, a day-and-hour heatmap and CSV export. linqr leaves bots and link previews out of the counts.
